Hi, I think my earlier post got buried without an answer. But I really want to know this. Also, I had asked if it makes a difference if the stochastic is floating or not as it seemed to make it higher. I like my charting package and want to make it work, but looking at the charts people have posted, it doesn't match up to the same levels. This is why I think my settings are wrong. I know it's 8,3,3 but please see the quote below. I have attached my chart so you know what my stochastics look like. Also, since I'm asking my questions. Regarding the IB/OB, is it a stronger signal if the IB is completely inside rather than simply less than or equal to. It seems to me the IB's completely inside are more rare than say for example, a high equal to the previous high with a lower low.

What does the 8,3,3 stand for in the stochastic? I need to know where to place the 8 and the two threes because my charting software has it broken down by
Period for %K
Period for %D
Perod for slow%D

I have had it as
8,3,3 following above, but I'm thinking it should be 3,3,8.
