Really worth it?
Of course it is likely, but as a novice FX trader I stay clear of major news announcements as they can vary, tho you can go from news and expectations if you like and put on a trade/keep one open.
Oh yes as we know, most brokers increase their spread on such news releases.
Just keep your stakes low, enter 5 mins or so after a major news release, or if you have read that the data is likely to be good and the TA shows scope for more movement in a trend then keep your trade open, otherwise close it.
