Forex mentors

You’re right. Good mentor must have good achievement and there must be proof about his performance. Usually, you could ask his performance in myfxbook to know the quality of trading which he has done. But for me, it is not easy to find out mentor in forex trading and you don’t need to try find it out too much because there are many good traders who can trade well with getting information from blogs, ebooks, forums, and trying it into demo account.

It is very lucky if there is trader who can find out personal mentor for himself because there are few people who want to spent time for mentoring you personally. I prefer to learn by myself than relying on other traders.

I will assure you that you will save a bunch if you just get a couple of these books:

Trading Price Action Trends: Technical Analysis of Price Charts Bar by Bar for the Serious Trader by Al Brooks

Naked Forex: High-Probability Techniques for Trading Without Indicators by Alex Nekritin

Understanding Price Action: practical analysis of the 5-minute time frame by Bob Volman

If you sign up for any these “mentors”, soon you will find out that they have a ton of other services to offer you (another words more money sucking) usually making you feel that you need them also because they go so “well” together with what you just signed up. Believe there is no easy way in and you can learn to trade by using trend lines for free if you want to, anything that these guys can show you is readily available off the internet if you search for it. Most people sign up for this stuff because they think that these guys hold the golden key and the truth is they don’t. Save your money that’s my opinion!

I have several traders added in my FB profile that claim to teach you forex trading so that you will become able to make tension free money, but when I ask anyone of them about any track record, they always fail to do so. Several mentoring sites have fake reviews about their course. You have to be very careful in choosing a good mentor.

Hi Diego
this is a really great string and actually something that ive often wondered about. I have seen online a lot of advertisements for mentors and professional traders who allow you to follow their trades. perhaps you could get involved in a couple of these communities for a trial to see if you get any inside tips? might be cheaper and less risky than putting all your eggs in one basket.

There are very few really good mentors out there. Most people who charge to mentor do it because they can’t trade for a living. When I say most, I mean like 999 out of 1000. A very few mentor because they’ve made all the millions they can possibly ever spend and they just do it for the attention they get from it. It’s not likely you’ll ever meet one of those though.

Having a forex mentors is a good one because you get to learn from them and help yourself prepared on how to face this business. It is good to trade good and with a good forex mentors one can actually learn much more from them.

Hi, I was wondering if you might have any suggestions for trusted “mentors” of which you might have come by through the years.
Thanks very much.

Does MrsViper know about this mysterious Mrs. Calabash…

I think, learning from internet is the best! Although, it’s a long term process but much secure than depending on others!

Like many people I also learn all from internet. I feel the need of training. If some one tell us and trained us we can understand trading quickly and early. I not say that mentor should do trading for us . For learning purpose mentor role is important. He can guide on the base of his experience.

It’s certainly unmistakably clear from all the posts made here by each of you that you’ve “learned” entirely from online, unverified, unreviewed, unedited sources. Heaven forbid that either of you should ever read a book.

not for nothing but ICT is back on twitter and he is going to be doing daily market videos. This could be very helpful if any of you are struggling. I know at some point he will be charging but at least till the end of the year it is totally free.

btw I know he is a very polarizing person and you either love him or hate him. Me I am with the love em group. his concepts has brought my trading to another level. His material is very advanced but he breaks it down to small chunks that can be easier to understand.

It will take hard work and dedication but you can become constantly profitable, but I can promise you this, whether it is Michael or any other mentor you will have to work hard and submit to time. There is no other way. period.

Shhhh, listen, hear that, it’s the sound of no one listening. Recently met someone who could not get through “Trading For A Living”, it was too harsh and unrelenting. Oh and happy days are here again, Mikey is back on Twitter, so there is no need to read any books.

It’s really rare that a person teaches you something for free. It’s It’s plain as day though, cause they spend their time. The main thing here is that this person is an expert and doesn’t ask for anything at the end.

I found my mentor back on babypips many years ago. I was invited to a traders skype group, which became daily communication for a few years with some other in-progress traders like myself. One out of that group became highly successful, and I am lucky enough to call him my closest friend though he’s on the opposite side of the world - we speak daily.

Here’s the thing, yes pretty much all the info you need is out there on the internet for free. But learning to sift through the bad and only follow the good, learning to focus on a trading style, learning methods of money management and psychological tips - these are all best done with someone who has already done it and can show you the way. Otherwise it will take much longer, that’s my 2 cents.

Lucky you

I’ve been sifting through the free stuff for two years and I have learned more in the last week than I have for those entire two years just by interacting with people on the forums.

If that statement was a trade, I’d run it without a stop loss… because the only direction that trade would run would be into profit. You don’t even need a formal teacher to speed up the process of learning to trade, you just need a few knowledgeable people you can trust to answer your questions and guide your thinking and learning.

Very true, as long as the student chooses the teacher(s) wisely. I think you are in good hands and you’re an above average “student” - if I were placing a bet on you, I’d go long, lol… okay, enough cheese for the day!
