Good resources for historical news/data?

Hey folks,

I am sure with time I could discover good ways to find historical news, rate changes, GDP data, and all of the other common events we await release of currently. I am interested in going back and basically taking myself through a history class of some of the major pairs, in the hopes of learning more about how different news/rate changes etc influence the market. There is a swath of items to consider I am sure. I feel that it could boost understanding and experience better to see actual items in action, instead of A) Gaining experience by using forward time only, and making more mistakes or B) Using only theoretical ideas on how certain factors affect the markets.

So, is there any good search method or collection of old data out there?
