Default Ideas from the competition

Hi admins and other God-like Babypippers!

I've noticed that the other forum (FF) use a special method for new members: their first posts are checkled by an admin before they're made visible to the community. That way they can easily weed out spammers and the like.
This is something I've actually thought about several times, that it might not be a bad idea for BP. That way we'd get rid of the Robin Hood system spam that turns up every Friday night...

Another thing that I'm sure you're already watching to see how it develops is this: Forex Factory - View Single Post - About the Commercial Forum
Very interesting to see how that develops huh?

Robin Hood system - is that the freebie PDF one that has been doing the rounds for the past year? What is the deal with that?

It freaks me out because a) it's free and b) it sometimes looks like it works. I was going to use it as my first test at writing an EA. Please note that I don't actually trade it on live, or rigorously, but I was just going to use it as a simple training exercise.

No, it's a scam EA being spammed everywhere and it's not welcome here.

Ok. The one I was sent was a free PDF system (i.e. not an EA) which seems very basic (based on stochastics). It's ever so frustrating how much BS goes round the FX world.

Concerning the Robin Hood system. I don't see how it is a scam. I looked at the website and agree it has all the slick hallmarks of scam. but the PDF is a free download and it doesn't even make you put in your email address. There are two free videos but I didn't watch them, maybe it's in the videos where they try to sell you something but not directly on the webpage. I scanned through the PDF quickly and it actually looks like it has some good basic information in it. It even has a link to babypips and recomends going through the babypips school. Besides a lot of general beginner information the PDF has a simple stocastic based strategy, at least from my cursory glance through it.

Any operator that uses SPAM posts to promote their stuff is by my definition a scam, no matter how valid the material may look.

Notice also that on page 67 in adobe readers page count, the seller is developing an EA. Who knows if that will be free, maybe he's just trying to build up a customer base for it, doing this "charitable" stuff now...

I've seen too much crap like this, so I'll just label it scam. Period.

I've read elsewhere that it opens a flow of further offers, and I'm half expecting to receive offers that require payment. I do agree that the basics look ok, and the babypips school lends it an air of legitimacy. I received the link as an advert from the Forex Megadroid sellers.

I have yet to receive any offer of an EA though. A second PDF came through which describes a '3x3' system.
