Default Why Post is on hold...

    Hi Moderators,

I have a thread at the Melting Pot and after posting more than 20 posts, my last post was "subjected to approval". Please advise,

    Thanks,

    Drew

    Hello Starpips,

The reason why posts are being redirected for moderation is because we have added a spam filter plugin.
We have added this plugin due to the drastic increase of spammers in the past couple of weeks.

I hope this helps. Good luck and happy trading!

    All the best,

I've just replied to the David Jefferson aka: Rave55 thread, quoting him in my response & the post has been sent to a moderator for checking.

There are no links included within the reply to arouse suspicion of spamming, neither are there any negative or disparaging comments likely to cause offense. So why has a totally innocuous post been delayed & redirected for moderation?

I can understand & appreciate the need for scrutiny where new members with no track record are concerned, or posts with off site links included within the post, but mine contained no links, nor is it inflammatory or off topic.

So, what reason do you have for holding it back for immediate inclusion?

    Hey cator,

Thanks for the question. Simply put, it's random. Posts are pulled by a 'computer', or software program, for moderation. As we have limited resources and a small staff of moderators, we can't review each and every post. Our resources also limit us from responding to every moderated post instantaneously. All we can ask for is your patience in getting the post released.

    Thanks,

    Pipstradamus

    Appreciate your response pipstradamus.
So as I was selected by the computer for post moderation, does this continue for a specific period of time? Because my question to this thread, which was my second post that day, was also intercepted & forwarded for moderation.

Although I now understand how & why it works, it would be helpful to know how long the interceptions extend to. Reason being, if I reply to a fast moving thread like the one I mentioned above, & my post is intended to follow-on with a specific topic, it will get absorbed & possibly overlooked before it appears in the correct order of the thread content.

In most cases a delay won't matter, but in a situation like that it's both incredibly irritating & frustrating.
If I & others have an idea of the timescale & amount of posts involved in the interception process I can simply throw in the desired number of posts to a topic or thread that doesn't require a timely response.

    Cheers.

So do you have 2 types of post divertion in operation?

You say posts are being redirected because of spam, & as I've just included a post link from an internal Babypips thread (Technical Templates Continued) to the 3 Ducks thread, I assume that's the reason for my specific post redirection to a moderator, then your colleague Pipstradamus reckons it's a random computer selection.

How random is it & how long does this computer program redirect posts for?
The reason I ask is I've seen at least 3 instances recently where you've been well & truly spammed by stock pick insertions & these characters have presumably joined the same day they've spammed you?

I thought all linked posts were automatically redirected for moderation until 50 posts were reached?
