Default My Subscriptions - Can't Unsubscribe

I am new to this forum, and I have responded to a number of posts. Now, my email is getting flooded with email. I have gone to the "My Subscriptions" page and it lists six subscriptions. I have tried "Edit Folders" - it says, "To delete a folder, remove the folder's name from the list. There is only one item on the list - Subscriptions, so I deleted it. Nothing happened. I tried replacing "Subscriptions" with the name of the thread. Again nothing happened.

How can I stop this flood of email?
    John.

On top of the site, Click on your NAME, your will reach SETTINGS. On left side there is Subscription Tab.

Click on List Subscriptions. Then you can see all your subscribed threads. Check whichever thread to Unsubscribe and below there is a Selected Thread Tab. Click on the tab. Then you can select what you want to do.

May it help you. I didn't use this settings. So try this.

    Good Luck

Hi SalimVP, thanks for the directions. It worked just fine.

One question, if you don't mind. When I click the "Selected Thread" tab, one of the options is to "Update Subscription Type" and under this, "Through My Control Panel Only". Any idea what or where this "My Control Panel" is?

To the left of hte subscriptions list, there is a "My Settings" tab. Under the sub-tab "My Account - General Settings", I see the same reference to My Control Panel, but I can't find My Control Panel anywhere under "My Settings". Nor is it a tab at the top of the page.

    Thanks,
    John.

    Hello John,

The user control panel or UserCP is what you're already looking at. UserCP is your "account settings page" or "my profile page" like you see on other websites. UserCP allows you to edit your profile information including email address and password, and other settings like timezone, quiz settings, privacy settings, forum and thread subscriptions and private messages.

You can access UserCP in a couple of ways:

    1. Click on the UserCP tab in the main toolbar, under the School tab.
    2. Click on your username at the top right of the window (clicking your username anywhere else will bring you to your Public Profile page, as other users see you).
    3. Click on Forum | Forum Actions | Edit Profile

Let us know if you have any other questions.

    John,

To your question about notifications. You have 4 ways to receive notifications on forums or threads that you've subscribed to:

    1. Through your control panel (you have to log into your account and go the Subscriptions section of your control panel to get updates).
    2. Instant email notifications (exactly what it means, not recommended if you've subscribed to a FORUM. Thread subscriptions with instant email notifications can get overwhelming if the thread is very active).
    3. Daily updates by email
    4. Weekly updates by email

I would recommend testing each option to see which fits your needs best. Hope that helps.
