Default How do I post a link to a thread?

First up, an apology: this is neither a bug nor a suggestion - I think that it is rather more a case of my own incompetence, so it is a plea for help, but I think that this is still the right place for it? Further apologies if not...

In a current thread, I would like to post a link to an earlier BP thread. I have tried the linkback tool, but I just get a 'cannot display webpage' alert on my screen and the post won't post. So am I missing something? I would be very grateful if someone would point me in the direction of a tutorial, FAQ or something that will tell me how to post a link to another BP thread within BP. I have searched in vain for the answer myself.

    Sorry and thanks in advance,

    ST

I normally just go to the thread you wish to link. Copy the address bar and post it in whatever thread you wish. Not sure if that was what you were asking or not
If you do not help us noobs we will grow.

To add to Bob's post, if there's a specific point in the thread you want to link to, right click the post number in the upper right corner of each post, select "copy link location", and copy/paste that link to the post you are writing.

    And this happens.

Guys, as ever from you two, it's the complete answer. (And yes, Bob, I am that bad at IT, that is what I was asking!)

Thanks very much chaps, I appreciate it.
