Just tried it out, & managed to successfully give rep to a couple posts, so it appears to be working for me anyhow!

Looks like the rep works again.

Are we going to get any "backpay"?

The rep system is really working fine. I got -78 rep points for a post in 5 Pips per Day thread. But it was just a harmless post so how do the rep system work anyway, can some veteran member explain to me?

Up in the extreme right hand side of the task bar above the join date & post # count are 2 hands with thumbs pointing up & down (see attachment)

When you view a post which you feel warrants special recognition, you can add to that posters reputation by clicking on the hand icon & giving them praise by affirming your thanks.

Conversely, if you feel a poster has made a bad call, is out of line or downright disruptive etc, there's also an opportunity to register your disgust by giving a negative rep.

Each time you receive a good (or bad) rep it adds points to your tally which is reflected in the green (or red) dots against your name.

Thanks Jocelyn, your explanation is clear and detailed. Really appreciate you take time out to explain to a newbie like me.

Hey Ray,
I gave you some rep to make up for whoever burned you. With all the bs that's floated around here by a few I won't mention that never received bad rep, you didn't deserve that for such an innocent post.

Hi BP Admin,

I see that the reputation meter/points is working again, however, it seems to be going a little "overboard". Some members including myself seem to get quite a jump in the meter per post. Some member seem to have gotten some bad rep points, and then some good, but the meter doesn't seem to compensate for or adjust for that. Please look into...thanks

Hello,

You know me: I NEVER complain BUT this 'reputation' thing is indeed a problem.

I'm finding people with the highest ranked reputation but only a few posts (and I mean a VERY few posts) (I know the number of posts is not linked to the reputation but that's not the issue).

It would also appear that it's being abused when one member has a 'personal beef' with another member.

I'm not sure how others would feel about this but I'm 'all for it' NOT working again and being 'reset' for everyone. It would appear that the reputation can be 'tampered with' by us (members) whereas the 'automatic ranking' or 'titles' (sorry: not sure what to describe it as) cannot.
