    Default About Meta-Delta

    Hi!

I don't know if this is the right forum for my question regarding the Meta-Delta bridge and Meta Trader 4 platform.

I have installed both Delta Trading platform and Deltastock Metatrader platform by downloading and running the DELTASTOCK Traiding Package, and I have started the Meta-Delta bridge. Everything seems as it should, but the chart catalog in Meta Trader 4 only contains forex.
The Traiding conditions- section in the Delta Trading website says that it should be possible to trade at least gold and silver in addition to forex with the normal Deltastock Metatrader 4, and about Meta-Delta the website says that "You can trade Forex, Precious Metals and Stock Index CFDs through META-DELTA".

    Now my question is:

If it is possible to trade all or some of the instruments of the Delta Trading platform through Meta-Delta, how can I access the instruments in Meta Trader 4 platform?

    Thanks!

    Hi.

Yep: right place to ask you question for sure.

You can add any instruments from Delta Trading to Deltastock MetaTrader 4 using the Meta-Delta Bridge Application BUT they will not be charted in Deltastock MetaTrader 4 if that makes sense. In other words: your EAs etc. will run but you won't have the charts in Deltastock MetaTrader 4 but only in Delta Trading.

Remember that all the Meta-Delta Bridge Application does is submit orders etc. to Delta Trading and they're then executed through Delta Trading. The Meta-Delta Bridge Application was more of a temporary measure i.e. before Deltastock offered Deltastock MetaTrader 4 as a standalone trading platform. Deltastock will be adding the same instruments as found in Delta Trading to Deltastock MetaTrader 4 at some point (currently in the testing phase). If you take a look at the Deltastock MetaTrader 4 Demo Accounts you'll already see that some of the major indices are included for demo trading (and for testing purposes).

My honest opinion: you cannot compare the two trading platforms. Delta Trading is a professional grade trading platform whereas MetaTrader 4 REALLY is a 'one size fits all' trading platform and lacks a LOT of functionality when compared to Delta Trading. I know that for many: when they FIRST try to use Delta Trading they give it five minutes, cannot work out what's going on, and then go an post bad reviews about the software. Spend some time with Delta Trading, read the manual (RTFM???), and call on me for help, and you'll never look at MetaTrader 4 again I assure you nor at another broker.

    Regards,

    Dale.

    Hi!

    That does make sense.

Yes I agree, the Delta Trading platform is excellent, much better than anything I've tried so far. I am just using the Meta Trader 4 as a stepping stone and trying out some strategies I wrote for another (inferior) platform while getting more familiar with Visual C# and the API.

    Thank you for the reply!

    Hi again Dale!

For some reason I'm getting an error running one EA that runs on Meta Trader but trades on Delta Trader. The error reads: function 'DELTA_GetOrderParams' call from dll 'delta.dll' critical error c0000005 at 100018EF.

Do you have any ideas what this might mean and/or how to fix this?

    Thanks!

I have to admit defeat i.e. no idea what the error means. I will RIGHT NOW forward a link to your post to the IT Department and get back to you ASAP.

    Regards,

    Dale.

    Hi pesus.

I've been asked to ask you a few questions:

    • What operating system are you using???
    • What version of Delta Trading are you running???
    • What version of Deltastock MetaTrader 4 are you running???
    • Could you please attach to a new post or send to me (dpaterson@deltastock.co.za) a screenshot of the Deltastock MetaTrader 4 Experts Tab

    Regards,

    Dale.

P.S. By all means post the details (answers) here but maybe you should email me directly anyway. That way I'll have your contact details and can put you in touch directly with someone who will be able to sort the problem out (if it was JUST Delta Trading then I'd be able to help you directly no problem). Not that I mind being the go-between. Just trying to save you some time is all. Of course: I'll post the solution here for reference purposes for other clients.
