Hi,

I've been with Zulu Trade since July 2012, first as a follower, now I'm also trying my skills as a signal provider.

I find it weird that there is almost no place to discuss zulu on the Internet, I mean Zulu Trade's forums are a ghost town and most people who write there are signal providers trying to promote themselves, when I search in google msot results are from forums where people claim Zulu Trade is a scam or that it doesn't work and they have lost a lot of money. The latter is true though, above 90% of the follower accounts I've browsed are in the red. However, there are very successful followers out there and I would like to talk with them. So, I assume there are a lot of people that feel the same as me since Zulu Trade claims there are more than 70,000 followers using its platform. From the people using Zulu Trade, how long have you been using it? Are making a profit and if yes what is your return? Which signal providers do you follow and why? And you can basically write anything that seems important to you.

I started very badly in my noob days in Zulu Trade after I lost over 1,600 pips during my first month after one of the two top 10 providers I was following went bust but I managed to recover in the following months. Currently my equity is around EUR 600 and I have made a profit of some 300 pips but am still at a loss of EUR 17 (but at a profit of some EUR 30 if you take into account the bonus I recently got from my broker AAAFX). I have open positions for +800 pips, which is normal because I'm following my own signal provider account which relies on very long term trade, usually positions are left open for about a month. I'm not following any other signal providers besides myself but I am willing to as long as I find someone I can trust.

I had finally the time to complete my automated trading course, of which the first two parts were already posted here:

http://forums.babypips.com/expert-ad...ogramming.html

The third and last part contains two lessons. It first explains how to use machine learning algorithms to detect profitable price patterns for automated price action trading. The last lesson is about programming a commercial quality trading robot with some impressive performance figures:

- 95% win rate.
- average 100 pips profit per day - guaranteed ;).
- about 1000% annual return on capital.
- verified by MyFXBook with 1 year live trading on a real account.

All code is included. The trading method used by this robot script has so far never been published as to my knowledge...

For understanding the lessons you'll need to know the first two parts of the course. If something is unclear please ask. I'll post the final lessons here step by step in the next days.

I wrote this quick Python 3 code which will perform a quick Monte Carlo simulation (selection without replacement) and creates a simple "report.txt"...

I wrote this quick Python 3 code which will perform a quick Monte Carlo simulation (selection without replacement) and creates a simple "report.txt" file with the information. It will calculated the average maximal drawdown achieved in each run as well as the standard deviation. From there one is able to calculate the confidence intervals.

If you're not sure what Monte Carlo is and how it can benefit you, a simple search on your favorite search engine will do.

I have attached a sample P/L text file; this is the format yours need to be in as well. (Can be in pips, $, or %, doesn't matter)

You should place "Monte Carlo SWOR.py" in the same folder as your CSV/text file.

Download Python 3:
http://forums.babypips.com/expert-ad...tml#post470705

NOTE: I just whipped this up quickly and currently cannot do % drawdown only absolute. If someone wants to modify it they are welcome to, but I ask them to share it with the rest of us as well.

Hello All,

Only because of a lot of requests am I starting this thread. I am not a believer. Maybe you can change my mind. For anyone who is new to this method, there is tons of info here:

Trend Runner Thread

If you are going to do this do it right.

I want to see 48-60 months of BT Data from a basket of MT4 based brokers. I would suggest at least 10. Use 4 & 5 digit brokers. Use ECN, STP & Market Makers. Use brokers who do & do not charge commissions. The more data the better. Otherwise don't even bother.

if you are interested in using a EA, FAEA or SAEA, be sure to help. Do not just sit around while others do the work.

make a list of brokers that everyone uses. get a bunch of you to do the testing. KEEP ALL RESULTS. Upload them here so everyone can view the data.

Be honest. This is not a pissing contest. Leave attitudes & pride at the door. We want to make money. Bottom line.

Forward test on as many different brokers demo for at least 90 days. Then, use real cash. Pennies of course. But see if it works.

I will be monitoring this thread. But I will be most active on the main Manual trading thread.

MAKE SURE ALL EA RELATED MATERIAL, CHATTER, CHART PICS AND RESULTS STAY ON THIS THREAD.

Good Luck.

I am a new user here in babypips as of today.
This is my first post here in this forum and I am not really familiar with forums in general, so please be empathetic to my ignorance.

I have been interested in FOREX for over a year now and have been slowly tinkering infrequently with ways to improve/create strategies. Included is a graph and report with ONE of my possible winning strategies. I am looking for some input to accelerate my learning curve.

So... here is a few questions:

-Do you think this strategy could be profitable?
-What could be the drawdowns?
-It seems to hit a plateau for "SIZE" on the bottom for equity to trade.. Why? How to fix?
-What other currency pair is recommended that would would be good to offset/diversify with?
-When setting up a Live account, which broker and VPS is reccommended?
-If starting with say a "micro" account do I have to change the account type when equity hits higher levels if using trades by percentage of free margin?

These are a few questions I have.

Please include some of your results images when replying if possible... Hell maybe we can work out some kind of exchange in private.

Thanks.

Hi Folks,

I have created a EA based on Captain Currency's 3 Duck strategy.

The EA looks for the same entries as the manual strategy on the H4, H1 & M5 charts. Once found, it will open a pending order, which will be the number of pips your broker has set as your stop level for that currency pair, away from the current price.

It also sets a SL & TP of 30pips, and has a trailing SL which keeps the SL no more the 30pips away from the current price. So if you start with a SL of 30pips and the position moves to +20pips, your SL will have moved to 10pips away from your opening price. In this example, if the position starts to go against you, the SL will stay at 10pips from the open price.

I have been running the EA since 7th May but I was tweaking the trailing stop and got it fixed on 8th May, so fixed EA has been running since the 9th. You can see in myfxbook that from the 9th May with the improved trailing stoploss, performance has improved.

I have only been running the EA off a laptop which hasn't been running overnight so far but I am going to be running it going forward on a VPS.

I am also setting the EA to only open trades from Monday morning @ 6am GMT onwards, and close all trades @ 5pm GMT on Friday until Monday morning again.

I plan to run the EA for another 2-3 weeks before going onto a live account.

You can view the performance here: 3 Ducks EA System | Myfxbook

Please feel free to give some feedback.
