Stopped out.

-30 pips.

Direction was right but choice of pair was poor.
Cable had same candlestick formation and also had lower channel broken. But the cable had already broken a support zone whereas the EUR/USD hadn't.

Long EUR/JPY 161.11

S/L 160.69

T/P 161.95

Bullish piercing pattern, broken prior support at 161.11.

I've made myself a new rule. Due last night's failed trade, even though it was in the money for 30 pips at one stage, I will set a closer more realistic T/P target if I have a position open before I go to sleep.

I'm currently only trading one mini lot at a time with one T/P target, however, once I've reached a consistent level of picking the right trades I hope to use 2 mini lots to better manage risk as well as for more aggressive profit targeting.

Nice play on the piercing line off the BB, Keitsuke!

Did you notice:

1) the bullish Inside-up (similar to a bullish harami; often called an inside bar or IB, e.g. in James 40-100 pips thread) off the lower BB on 08/27 @1100-1300?

2) the dark cloud cover off the top BB on 08/28 (today) @ 0300-0400?

Both great trade opportunities: but you can't be everywhere at once.

Great job on the journal thus far!

Thanks for dropping a line here Andrew.

I did see those other patterns you mentioned, great patterns indeed, but I missed them. No matter, there are trade opportunities everyday.
