Default t/p's not being executed

Hi. Just now a trade I had hit my t/p twice, going about 7 pips underneath it each time, but the trade continued. My s/l, on the other hand, was executed immediately.
Could the price have been "too quick" for the broker, and went back to the wrong side of my t/p before the order was carried out? Or are brokers usually quite relaxed about getting around to dealing with t/p's?

Thanks

Sometime in a high volatility period, Slippage may happen to your order resulted you take profit never hit , and this also can be happen on the stop loss order. With Oanda platform , you can set a lower bound and upper bound for risk management.

You could be using a ECN.

never mind - I realised that the price I was watching was the bid price, and since these were short positions it was the ask price that mattered, and the ask price never actually hit the t/p
