Line charts? Point and figure? Candlesticks are just one way to interpret price movement. So yes, it is viable that one can find an edge without candlesticks.
Personally I use both a line chart and a candlestick chart on the same pair, only with a larger timeframe on the line chart. I use bollinger’s as well as any DI that suits.
