Default Inside Bar

I have searched the internet to help clear this up, but unfortunately, I have found multiple definitions to the inside bar, so I need to ask. I know it has probably been cleared up already in this thread but there are just way too many pages for me to read it all.

What exactly is the definition of the inside bar used in this trading system??? I have made several indicators for mt4 to experiment with the different definitions I have found. The one that seems to work best is the one that checks to see that the highs and lows of the IB are within the highs and lows of the previous bar AND that the size of the body of the suspect IB is smaller than the previous bar.

I have also modified this indicator to show an inside bar only when the highs and lows of the IB are within the highs and lows of the previous bars AND that the body of the suspect IB is within the body of the previous bar. This one did not work so well. Let me explain why.

With my broker, Interbankfx, it seems that there is almost always a price gap between the open of the current bar and the close of the previous. Often times this gap will make the body of the suspect IB outside of the previous bar, all the while, the close of the IB is well within the open of the previous bar. Now in the indicator, I can allow for a few pips of play in this situation, or I can just assume that the open of the IB is the same as the close of the previous bar, completely ignoring the problem. Does this price gap make a difference???

Ok, let me reorganise my question because I kind of went off on a tangent.

A) What is the exact definition of an inside bar that is being used in this system?

B) Can the high's and low's of the IB be outside of the high's and low's of the previous bar as long as the body of the IB are within the high's and low's of the IB?

C) If not B, does the body of the IB have to be within the body of the previous bar?

Thanks in advance for your help guys.

Also, once i have these questions cleared up, I will post my indicator for you guys, albeit a simple one...

Peace

Hi richardd,

Just so you know James is on vacation this week. He will be back in the room on Monday. I'm sure he will get you straight next week.

Has anyone traded this on a daily chart? I've been rolling with a 15 min chart right now and it's just consuming too much of my time. I really dig the system, but I need to take care of other things in my life as well.

I'll probably start demo'in on a daily chart and post my results on my trading journal over in Forextown.

Well daydreamer

just my opinion, but: What is the most valuable thing we have? Right, time! So I absolutely see why he asks for some kind of summary.

If he only works with this summary and looses...well then it's his fault, period. But to check, if the system is something you like and feel comfortable with, a summary is a nice thing then.

For example... if I would have read, that this system works with tens of indicators, I wouldn't have read any further... but what I read sounded really good... so I dug deeper into it

Regards,
Chris

So I supplied the poster with the summary in the thumbnail.

Their price for my time was a rebuke.

End of story.

Default What stop to use for a Long position, but bar was higher?

What stop should you use if the you're going a long position, but the 2 bars left of the IB's lowest is higher than the price you're about to enter?

Chart attached

Thanks.

In all these types of trade where would price need to go
to prove your TA wrong?

2 or 3 pips below the bottom of the IB candle.
