Hi, I think my earlier post got buried without an answer. But I really want to know this. Also, I had asked if it makes a difference if the stochastic is floating or not as it seemed to make it higher. I like my charting package and want to make it work, but looking at the charts people have posted, it doesn't match up to the same levels. This is why I think my settings are wrong. I know it's 8,3,3 but please see the quote below. I have attached my chart so you know what my stochastics look like. Also, since I'm asking my questions. Regarding the IB/OB, is it a stronger signal if the IB is completely inside rather than simply less than or equal to. It seems to me the IB's completely inside are more rare than say for example, a high equal to the previous high with a lower low.

What does the 8,3,3 stand for in the stochastic? I need to know where to place the 8 and the two threes because my charting software has it broken down by
Period for %K
Period for %D
Perod for slow%D

I have had it as
8,3,3 following above, but I'm thinking it should be 3,3,8.

Default Stoch Level for trading

Hi James,

I have few question for you to better understand the IB system, as to stoch level when to execute trade.

1. For Long trade can I enter trade once the stoch level reach 30 or between 30-50? Can I execute trade once it reach 61 and above?

2. For Short trade, can I enter below 80 or between 80 - 60 level?

The 2 question above will clear up and will add-up the final touches for me to understand the system from the chart you posted to me earlier.

Thanks and happy trading...

New trader and first post here, but following james' system closely. Looks very interesting and will be using it exclusively as something to learn on.

To the people asking questions, nearly every single question asked is answered by james in a previous thread.

Do the guy a favor.

Maybe James should copy the answers to a FAQ and possibly ask the mods to make it a sticky. Or just update the first page of the thread since there have been dozens of repeated questions.

True =D

However, I initially had a lot of questions when I read his system directions. You've just got to treat this thread like a good book. Take your time, be patient, get a drink, and read the entire thing.

I think it would have taken me 1/2 the time to read the thread if I didn't have to weed through the hundreds of repeated questions.

That was my main point. To each his own though

Default Hey Newbie

sameer666

I believe that the system is on Page 6 of this thread, so simply go check it there, I think we are on page 50 at the moment.

Cheers,
