Question no system

I use "intuitive feel" for chart reading and trades. Does anyone else do this

I do look at indicators but use the looks of the chart for the decision.

I dont know about not having a system but I have started just by looking at price action and how it is moving rather than basing my decisions off of indicators. I have been more profitable doing this than I had been following systems that would require indicator qualifiers. I kind of had that "Is it really that simple" moment when I started doing this. There are still rules I follow though, just not indicators.

Veterens tend to rely on their intuitive feel for an instrument or market, & that comes with experience.

I wouldn't say they use it exclusively, as that can very easily unravel & cause unwanted turmoil.

As ahefner commented, rules & at the very least, a basic plan or strategy is required if only to keep you focused & in tune with whatever it is you use to justify your trades. But intuition is certainly a big positive if utilized in harmony with your strategy.

I had that same moment when i was using EMA Indicators
I made some trades based on that indicator alone and made money
i thought this is EASY....then the next week i got hammered.

I use the 50/50 system....half technical, half news,
seems to be a little better,,, I haven't found any Magical secret yet

To Free Soul :

Here are two hyperlinks you should look up. They will inspire you.

1) Candle Sheds More Light Than The MACD

2) Japanese Candlestick Charting Explained

I am taught by the professionals that candlestick trading is vastly superior to all other methods. Like everyone else, i started trading using the traditional indicators and lost more money than i made. Then i graduated to candlestick trading and have not made a single loss since, but instead made many excellent profit trades.

Candlesticks, in my opinion, are definitely the way to go. Strange - i have previously always avoided them.

Kind regards, Tymen Wortel, Perth, Western Australia.
