Supernova GBP/JPY Mini Trend Catcher

Hello babypippers, here is my new system.

Please see the file supernova.vtenv. Go to file in vtrader -> import environment - > and go to where you saved supernova, choose the file click ok.
This just sets up vtrader to my settings.

Ok so I look at the chart for setups, for a short setup I am looking for price to be cleanly below the green ma (t3 standard settings) So if going short you want red candles with no or few upper shadows and if going long blue candles with no or few lower shadows.

The qqe alert is the crossing of the qqe indicator shown by blue/pink dots. Buy blue and pink sell, this is really just an alert and helps me pull the trigger, I do not blindly jump into a trade when a new dot forms. All indicators need to agree.

Right you’re checking out the potential setup with regards to the above, now look at the momentum indicator, I only go short when it has crossed below the grey dotted line and directional movement index indicator has crossed so that the purple line is above blue vice versa for long.

I look for setups from 2 am EST till 6 am EST, if you are late and missed any 100+ movements during this time be wary of trading as it will probably range until the US open. If there has been no big breakout it is safer to look for a setup after this time. Next best time to trade is us open. I have also noticed some good trades around 15:00 EST and 00:00 EST.

It's up to you as long as hekein ashi is cleanly above or below the t3, momentum has cross the grey dotted line and directional movement index agrees it is a high probability trade to go with the qqe alert.

Sometimes the qqe alert comes a bit early, wait for the other indicators to agree and you have less chance of the trade going against you right away to realise profit.

As for profit taking I just trail price as I go. I am looking into Spudfyre's way, once up 20 pips lock in 7, once up 30 pips lock in 14 and once up 35 pips lock in 20. I think from there leave 20 pips locked and let it go, you can easily catch 100+ movements with GBP/JPY in 5min.

Thanks for posting this Cryten. This seems to be a very promising system, and I'm definitely going to be forward testing it for the next month. Just a question though, have you back tested this system over a large period of time?

I have only backtested visually, another member from forex factory has done his own backtesting, looks like this thread has kicked off there if you want to check it out.

URGENT cryten: how to shut up the warning alert as it is very annoying, thks for the super strategy , i use almost the same in MT4 but i ve always wished for an alert as i dont have time to check all the pairs, but now wish that if i didnt have an alert but i hope that there is a way to shut it up after you noticed the signal on the chart.

by the way, on what frame u use that strategy just 15 min??

I just downloaded the latest demo version of VT, extracted the supernova.vtenv file, and tried import environment and it keeps saying "environment import failed".

I have tried re-downloading the file, extracting it, and saving it on my desktop and then trying import environment again but the same problem. I have tried many variations but still get "environment import failed".

Anyone have any suggestions what I may be doing wrong?

hehe I switch my sound off.
system works on any timeframe, if you trade 5min do have 15min open for reference. 15min is safer then 5min but last week 5 min would have doubled pips.

by the way , i see sometime, the trade works just with the qqe signal and the momentum breaks, without the need to the DI to cross,
what do you think?

5 min charts doesnt have a high risk of fake signal, as the price might change so fast?

yesterday i opened a demo account for the vt trader, i even didnt know which broker provide the vt charts system, but finally i got it, just download it and import the file, it will say unable to support this strategy on the demo account, just click ignore, then the set up will come

as for the MT4 it is just the adx and momentum indicator, easy to fin there
