Default How much do you reckon it takes to run a site?

How much do you reckon it takes to run a site?
Reason I ask is that I know a few sites out there that offer teaching videos for a price or a subscription and then claim all the money goes into the site. Now I happen to run a few websites and the hosting costs no more than $150 a year. If you get people to run it for you maybe it costs more.
If these sites want to sell videos then fine but don't claim it's for the site when it's more likely to enable risk free trading to occur Of course some of it goes to the author, why wouldn't it.

Depends on what you put into it. I do freelance work for a website, where I provide all the content for the website. The owner had paid a programmer and web designer to put the site all together. So he's invested a chunk of change with it without doing much of any work himself.

With me continually providing content for it, he also incurs a monthly charge for my services on top of any fees he has for keeping his space on the internet.

Mmmmmmm.

When my candlestick trading thread is to be finished (very soon), I am looking for someone to construct a final PDF file from the final Word documents I will make which outline the method.

I have no idea how to construct a PDF myself.

Last year, a skilled programmer did it for me.

Hint, Hint, Hint!!

Simple, you just run it through a converter or you download the Adobe editor or some free version to do it. Links and stuff are extra but same principle. I get your point, if you don't know how...pay someone to do it.
However, I am simply skeptical when it comes to sites saying it all goes back into the site when videos are costing hundreds of dollars - hosting a website simply does not cost that much, forums are usually free software provided by opensource, etc. etc.

Don't forget the costs of advertisement. Not cheap.

Your skepticism is not without its own merit. I understand your concerns.

Download OpenOffice.org - The Free and Open Productivity Suite

It's free, does everything Microsoft Office does, plus it has an "Export to PDF" button that turns Word documents into PDf files instantly!

Or if you don't want to mess with it just send the Word document to me. I'll save it as a PDF and send it back to you.

Business Plan:
1. Set up forex site
2. Sell lots of tutorial videos showing action trades to newbies
3. Make risk free trades
4. Simples.

For example, when you see 2 quotes in different places:
1. "...course is for sale all money goes to charity"
2. "...courses sold at fee...money goes towards paying site's bills."

Which is it?
