So, barring some complete game-changer, knocking Romney totally out of the race, it looks like Romney has a "virtual" lock on the nomination.

hmmmm, i do not understand you manm what did you mean?

Romney does not actually have the nomination locked up, yet. But, he already has 74% of the delegates he will need.

There is nobody else in the race who can beat Romney to the required number of 1,144 delegates.

So, unless Romney becomes very ill or dies, he is going to be the nominee. He has the nomination virtually locked up.

The nomination of Mitt Romney confirms my initial misgivings about the Republican Party... We have been caterwauling about Obama for the past 4 years and now we are going to nominate somebody who would only slow the pace of government growth by 4%... Even Jimmy Carter said he would be fine with Mitt Romney because he has "demonstrated his flexibility on the issues"... I would of thought the so called Conservatives would have learned a lesson from back in 08 when they tried to make a moderate like John McCain President... I suppose Fox News isn't the best at picking candidates...

Unfortunately our rather pathetic nomination setup only comes from those with pockets deep enough, and egos big enough to want to run in the first place. And sometimes an ego big enough will open pockets of others that are deep enough.

Do you honestly think that the republican party told Newt to run? Or Paul? Or Santorum?, and this is Romney's second go around, and he's quite obviously a second tier candidate at best.

To boot, the primary turnout for votes a was woefully apathetic.

I liked the idea of Rick Santelli running. But sadly, the truth is, no one smart enough to do it, wants the job...

An election year is a good time to talk about reforming the way we pick candidates and reforming the way we run elections, because during an election year more people are paying attention. And there's no doubt that reform is sorely needed.

But, it's too late to reform anything in this election cycle. The outcome of this election cycle is almost certain: It will be Romney vs Obama.

    • If you're a liberal Republican, probably you like Romney somewhat, and dislike Obama somewhat.

    • If you're a moderate Republican, probably you love Romney, and despise Obama.

    • If you're a conservative Republican --- or a Conservative or Libertarian who does not self-identify as a Republican --- then probably you dislike Romney somewhat, and hate Obama.

In each of these cases, the logical choice should be clear: Choose the better candidate of the two. Clearly, that's Romney.

Would Romney be a great president compared to some other Republican? Maybe. Maybe not.

Will Romney be a great president compared to Obama? Without a doubt.

The worst thing that any Republican/Conservative/Libertarian could do in November would be to refuse to vote for Romney because he's not the perfect candidate, or because he's not the candidate we preferred earlier in the campaign.

Any sort of "protest vote" in November --- including not voting at all --- would be the same as a vote for Obama.

If you think that Romney is the better choice, by any margin --- then, by all means, vote for Romney.

okay here is an article about or favorite president. According to this article Obama (his admin) went into the official bios of just about every president and altered them to include him and link his efforts to there "unfinshed work"

Disgusting! This a$$ hole has to go!
