Agreed with supporting Concealed Carry laws. If someone else was packing in there. the probability of only one person dieing would have been much higher and that one person is a goner anyway. What I dont understand is how does a guy go into a theater with that much gear and not get his ass kicked. Especially after he starts shooting. Even if I was not packing (which is not very often) you can guarantee the exits are going to be blocked by people panicking the rest need to understand you now have one option and that is to fight to live. Power in the people. There were surely enough people to kick his ass and unarm him.

But most people don't think like that.

    Now,
I'm not that big on conspiracy theories, but from what I've read about this whole thing is all seem's pretty weird. Especially considering he was a neuroscience student. Even weirder is that I saw a video of him when he was straight outta high school and had actually won 1 of 4 research scholarships given to promising students in the scientific field from the federal government and in the video was speaking about the kind of research he wanted to do. Can you guess the kind?

    Alternate realities.....

like things to do with schizophrenia and how the mind can create a completely alternate reality for itself. So I'm thinking what if in his research he started testing out some of his theories on himself and ended up in a completely ****ed up alternate reality where he was the Joker and whatnot.

Though then again I haven't really looked into everything that happened so can't really comment too deeply but it just reminds me of a movie called Altered States that kinda delves into this kinda stuff.

The brain is a wonderful thing lol

Mohammad Atta was no under achiever either, but that didnt stop him from falling for the double digit virgins in the after life.

I asked my husband why do you think people do some of the things they do when I read about this mass murder and he said "some people have no need for a reason, they would just like to watch the world burn".

I too thought my husband was a genius for putting it so eloquently.

That was until I found out he plagiarised it from a Batman movie!

Default They should have known he was a psychopath --- he didn't have a Facebook page!

Recently some publication in Germany called Der Taggspiegel wrote that people who avoid social media are "suspicious". In fact, they pointed out that psychopathic killers like James Holmes (the Colorado shooter) and Anders Behring Breivik (the Norwegian mass murderer) had one thing in common: they had no presence on Facebook or any other social media.

Well, I don't have a Facebook page, either. But, I don't think that necessarily puts me in the same Rogues Gallery as James Holmes. I may have an unusually high regard for my privacy, but I'm not a psychopath (as far as I know).

The Der Taggspiegel piece got picked up, and embellished, by Forbes, the London Daily Mail, and a few other publications, casting further suspicion on people --- like me --- whom they call "Facebook resisters".

Forbes went so far as to suggest that employers across the U.S. are becoming wary of young job applicants who do not use the Facebook site. It's a good thing I'm not looking for a J.O.B.

Well, to all of the aforementioned publications, let me simply quote Sherlock Holmes --- that would be the 2010 tv version of Sherlock Holmes (and no relation to James Holmes):

    "I'm not a psychopath, Anderson. I'm a high-functioning sociopath. Do your research."

Sherlock Holmes (Benedict Cumberbatch) to Scotland Yard forensics specialist Anderson (Jonathan Aris)
in the British tv series Sherlock (2010).

Maybe "plagiarized" is too strong a word. I would say your husband "quoted" the movie.

I've used that quote, myself --- Where do the trolls go .....
