    Hello Ray_1
no, there is no requirment for special candle triggers like what you mention.
the most important trigger for entry with the 5 minut hook is only that it takes place in line with the trend of the primery timeframe, and that for me is the 1 hourlie chart.

the most consistant & succesful time periods i am finding are at the start of the european open and all through that session.
Pulbacks are the best type of entery. Very high success rate!

a classic exampel of this was today on the euro-doller as the price pulled back to 1.44.
primery trend is up, pullback to what they call a high probebility level (round number) & a very nice hook on the 5 minut + also on the 15 minut chart also

I trade 1-2-3 continuation & reversal set ups wherever they appear & on whichever timeframes they reveal themselves on Ray, providing of course they're forming on & around an area or level of significance on the technical chart. That's the most important & relevant piece of the whole jigsaw.

I have the stochastic showing on my 5 minute chart yes. Carll uses it simply as a confirmatory aid when price is pressuring a particular level or zone of interest.

If price is trending down on the 60 or 120 minute he drops down to the 5 minute & only looks for short entries. Vice versa for longs.
Once again, the technical level or zone trumps everything!!

Timeframes are simply nothing more than a representation of data. If the area or zone is relevant, you can use any timeframe you choose to enter & manage the trade.

I owned a couple of successful UK businesses which I sold off over 5 years ago Ray.
I've always nurtured an active interest in investments & through my numerous business & investment contacts I eventually got recommended to Tess & Jocelyn’s excellent threads.

I had the time (& money) to devote to studying & practicing. I had the solid grounding & framework via the information on the TT threads, & I had the network of contacts already on tap to begin exploring my options when I was ready to take the next step.

Basically those business links opened up the access to the trading fund capital & my experience in negotiating + my positive 2.5 yr track record bagged me the deal. All I have to do now is continue to perform as consistently as I have been doing & I'll be ok!

    hello Ray_1.
it is not the set up of kevan. Carll is the member who first showed that stocastic hook on a 5 minute chart in the Technical Templat threds.
if you search on his name you will find some charts he has posted and coments he has posted about this hook entery.

Hi Ray, no I'm not clockwork although I know who you mean. I have read his thread at forex factory and our methods are very similar although he uses zones at a spread of s/r the same as phil838 on this forum whereas I work with lines but use them as an area.

I posted an apology to phil838 on my thread after reading his! I hadn't read his chart analysis thread and when I did I nearly fell off my chair. I think he summed it up best, our methods are nowhere near being new so it's no surprise that all three of us have found s/r at significant areas combined with PA the best way to trade.

While I was learning I did look into the james16 thread at forex factory which is a similar method again but I took my final method from a whole lot of different sources including traders I have met and worked with, books and forums and of course some good old trial and error. Clockwork doesn't use pivot points or moving averages either.

Nice to hear from you, see you soon.
