Angry MBT Navigator Help!

Hello Everyone,

This is my first time to post. After having laid back now for almost 6 months, learning and learning, I have a question on how to actually load trailing stops into the MBT Navigator. Suppose I wanted to go long US/JPY, the current price was 104.38, yet I wanted to BUY at 104.62 and set a 10 pip trailing stop so that in the worst case scenario I would be stopped out at 104.52. Flip the coin and going short, current price the same 104.38, and I wanted to SHORT at 104.10. Worst case scenario getting stopped out at 104.20. The idea of course is to stay in once the order was activated, and not lose over 10 pips either way. I've loaded this numerous ways into my platform, Limit/Trailing Stop: Stop Trail: Stop Limit Trail, and the platform almost always loads the immediate market price, ignoring my loaded prices. I becoming extremely frustrated....HELP !!! Please?

Thanks to all who respond.

Contact with MbT Customer service ... Hope so they can solve your problem batter than anyother here...Well Personally i think Both Mbt & EFX Groups are honest broker's but their Platform is not user freindly... Much complex to understand...

Hi Piphacker

I tried the MB Trading support, and depending upon whom I talk to, I get a different answer. It seems their support team gets confused as well. I was blown right out of my first "practice" live account when all my stops were overrun. I'm glad it was only $500. It's scary really, I went back to the demo to practice more, but the demo is so unreliable and has so many quirks in it that it leaves nothing believable to base a live account on

So, thinking it may possibly be something in MY process of loading my trades that is erroneous, I opened a demo account with HotspotFX, even though they don't have trailing stops. It has performed flawlessly, all my regular stops were activated, so I have come to believe.....wasn't me.

Good day!

Thanks for responding Piphacker, I was getting a little lonely here

Hi Racin_Rick...sorry I didn't see your post on the 8th. I agree with Piphacker. I have been with MBT/EFX for almost a year. They seem to be great brokers but the software is trickey at first. Trailing stops and other features are easy to set up once you get thru the learning curve. The EFX website has webinars as well as PDF files for learning their software. I love it and plan to stay with them. Happy to help if you want to give them another try...

Hello Nearly Human,

Thanks so much for your response So far I am sold on MB Trading, it's the skunky platform I dislike. If you were to enter this trade on your platform, please walk me through it, how you would set it up. Sometimes I wonder if my Java interface is translating correctly. I mean, what order would you use and how to set it up? Thanks!

I Have just read some very good comment's about Efx & Mbt trading on different form's but this is also true that they respond to any of your question very quick i think try again with their customer support maybe in 2nd attempt you may find your answer... On the other hand I think ''Nearly Human'' Can also help you...

OK here we go...
You are wanting to do a 'STOP+TRAILING STOP' order entry. So, on your positions screen (or where ever you make your order entries) use the 'Order Type' pull down menu and choose 'STOP+TRAILING STOP' as your order entry type. Enter 104.62 in the 'STOP PRICE' window, then adjust the 'Trailing Stop' to 10 pips and then click 'BUY'...that's it! Your trade will fire off when it reaches 104.62 and and your trailing stop is set at 10 pips.
Here are some other order entry types....http://www.efxgroup.com/f/EFX-order-entry-guide.pdf
It's pretty flexible once you get the hang of it.
Hope that helped. Let me know how it turned out for you.

Hey thanks PipHacker

I am determined to learn this platform, the demo is so quirky it's really hard to advance because it's like shooting at several moving targets. So, what I decided to do is learn the platform using very small 1 pip mini lot trades until I have it down. It may cost me a little, but surely I can learn it. I am not the brightest star in the sky, but I still have a little glow
