Default Invalid S/L or T/P

Whenever I try to create a sell order in MetaTrader 4, I get that error message. It doesn't happen when I make a buy order. Anyone know what's going on?

Thanks

Default Metatrader

I have the same problem when trading metatrader. I'm not sure what causes it, but I make the trade and then immediately modify the trade or order and place a s/l or t/p then. I'm not sure why it doesn't work initially. Does anyone know the reason for this? I"m trading a demo account. Does this happen with live accounts?

Maybe you guys are placing SL & TP incorrectly. In a buy/long order SL must be set below price, TP above price. The opposite for sell/short orders.
Minimum SL & TP varies among brokers. So it could also be that you are setting the SL & TP too close to the order price.

Default S/L and T/P

I've taken that into consideration and it doesn't seem to make a difference. You can enter the same number when you create the order and get the error message, but you can go back and modify the order and it works. It seems like a bug in the software to me, but other than that I like Metatrader pretty well. For anybody who has use MT4 and Xtick, how does Xtick compare with MT4. Thanks

.....try this- make sure all orders incl. S/L and T/Ps end in either a '0'0 or a '5'

Make sure it's in line with your broker's requirements. With my broker, I can't place a limit order within 10 pips of the current price.
