hi everyone.

my name's adam and i'm relatively new to FOREX. i opened up an fxcm demo account about 2 weeks ago and made $7000 through it (however, i do understand that with a live account, psychological factors would make sure that this is at least 20 times lower). i've been trading on my own (i'm only 18, and need to fund myself past that scary university of oxford) and so i don't know if my methods are efficient enough. to make things easy for you busy people, i made all my questions bold .

i was shocked to see people here making around 6 trades a month -- i usually make around 10 trades a day! is this normal for some traders? also, i've been reading up on threads such as the candlestick thread and had no success in replicating any of the mentioned success , and so i was wondering if low-risk opportunities are rare for traders. since my main aim is to simply fund myself through university, small pips are no problem as long as they're positive lol. i'm not looking for a get-rich-quick plan, and i'm in fact interested more about learning than making money. would you say FOREX is right for me?

finally, i was just wondering if there are any brokers or software that anyone here could recommend to a beginner. thank you all.

-adam

Well...the numbr of trades per day depends of what kind of trader u are, the timeframe u use, so its relative to each person.
About a good broker, i would recommen ALPARI, they use metatrader, have micro lots and they are very good in the ranking

I make about 20-25 trades a day. It really depends on your preference. I like to take them as I see them. Low risk I dont think there is. If its out there I havent seen it. I think forex is right for you. Trade by your rules not about what you anticipate
