Trading Journal

Does anyone have a template in word or excel of a trading journal? Just wanting to make sure I am capturing all the info I need to learn from past trades.

Why dont you say what you have allready included and ask if anybody else has any ideas of things you may want to add...

I would say use a points system and have a points spot, and add/check off things you didnt do that you were sopposed to, or things you did do that you shouldnt have based on your trading plan.


That way you can worry about following your plan versus using money, or pips as a measure of your system when you may or may not be following it at all times.

If people would have read what I asked. I asked for a TEMPLATE. Yarcofin -- since you are to stupid to understand what that means. That is a blank format that I can use so that I can ensure I am recording things that I can learn from. Simy - I liked your idea of a points system - Thank you. I am very new at this (hence the posting in the NEWBIES section) and after reading through the PIPS school I have built my trading plan. All I was asking for was some advice on what to track, and if anyone had a good format I could use. I wasn't asking for you plan, just some advice on a journal. Thanks for nothing. If this site's senior members are this rude then I no longer want to be a part of this site.

Well, I would have gladly given you mine. I think that Yarcofin was a little harsh, but your reply to him just brought you down lower than low. I don't think I've ever heard someone call someone else stupid on this site before.

If you are going to be a successful trader, you must say bye bye to your emotions. They will kill you. You must trade off of other peoples emotions, not your own. You may need to trade for a while before you will understand what I am saying, but any successful trader will say the same.

I think that your request was perfectly reasonable, but your second post... uncalled for.

OH just ignore him. Unfortunately he has little man syndrome. There are loads of wonderful helpful people on this site and you will learn loads if you stick with it.
