Default counterparty?

Hi,
I have a small real mini a/c with FXCM which I have not been operating for a while. Recently FXCM has converted that to the micro a/c where they are the counterparty. I would like to know from senior traders with an unbiased opinion, is this really to my benefit as a client? Will I get a good spread? Since the market maker is always going to have the upper hand and their position is always going to be opposite my position what does that really mean for me as a trader? Thanks in advance for your opinions. I need to know whether to stay with them or not.

Your concerns are all mostly myth not facts.
Myths spread by unsuccessful to failed traders.
Your spread will be same for all traders... the
very same spread you see on the platform.
And you think switching to another broker
will change what you see on your trading
platform or your biased myth views on
trading and on brokers? I don't think so.
