Default What is the best High Speed Internet System to use for FOREX?

    Hi
I am looking into the possibility of doing FOREX. I just started my Pre-School education. I understand High Speed Internet is a must. I have a NetZero Dial-up connection at this time. In my Forest Park, Illinois Area, there are two major High Speed Internet providers:

AT&T is providing DSL: latest commercials claim their speed is higher than Comcast.

Comcast is providing Cable. I have tried for two days to use their website to find out the price; no success. I had to call on the phone to find out. I was so frustrated by their dysfunctional website, I do not really want to deal with this company. Judging from the large number of Consumer Reports complains, I am no longer sure it is a reliable system.

I am not sure, but there may be a third wireless High Speed Internet System.

Can someone with experience, give me some advice regarding the best and most reliable system to use for FOREX?
    Thank you

Any high speed internet is ok for you, the market is not too fast to need and special Internet providers.

I think that you'll be ok with an internet connection that is over 1MB of speed, the MT4 doesn't consume that much of you broadband connection.

Do a little research at a place like DSLReports (Google it). Read reveiws and reports and such, paying attention not so much to speed, but RELIABILITY. TWCable lost my patronage when they knocked out my connection for two days because "there was a cat trapped in one of their neighborhood service boxes." My open trades hit their stops(thankfully) and I was out two days income while I waited.

I'm in an area of IL close to you. I had cable through comcast. The cable worked well for about a year. Then after more people around got the service it stopped working. I had five seperate technichians out to see what was wrong, nothing on my end. My guess is that they just had too many people on the token ring and were not breaking all the users up into different groups. It go so bad it would work from about 8-10 at night and then not work at all, in fact worse than dial up.

So, I switched to att DSL. Seems as fast as the cable was, when it was working it's best. I can play connection demanding online games just as easily. Very few down times. Really has only gone down when a storm has messed up the lines or they are doing work on the local lines. ATT also has better custormer service. And it costs less.

O, and I've been trading live for the past two weeks with IBFX & MT4 with no connection problems.

That is my experience, but I have friends who have had the comast cable for years and it still works for them.

The best solution is a VPS.
    They are not too expensive
    and the issues of reliability
    and always on is priceless.
