Forex Market Time Zones for April 5 - September 25, 2009

This weekend, New Zealand and the southeastern portion of Australia will return to Standard Time; and Mexico will go onto Daylight Saving Time. These are the last time-changes for Spring 2009. The time zones listed below will be in effect
from Sunday, April 5, until Sunday, September 27, 2009.


Here are the current time zones for the 27 countries which account for almost all (97.7 %) of worldwide forex trading volume.
Time zones are listed from east to west, beginning at the International Date Line.

Pacific/Asian Region

GMT + 12 hours: New Zealand (current time zone: NZST - New Zealand Standard Time)

GMT + 10 hours: Australia - southeastern region, including Sydney and Melbourne (EST - Eastern Standard Time)

GMT + 9 hours: Japan (JST - Japanese Standard Time)

GMt + 9 hours: Korea (KST - Korean Standard Time)

GMT + 8 hours: Singapore (SGT - Singapore Time)

GMT + 8 hours: Hong Kong (HKT - Hong Kong Time)

GMT + 8 hours: Taiwan (CST - Chinese Standard Time)

GMT + 5.5 hours: India (IST - Indian Standard Time)

Europe, Great Britain, Russia, Ireland and South Africa

GMT + 4 hours: Russia - western region, including Moscow and Saint Petersburg (MSD - Moscow Daylight Time)

GMT + 2 hours: Europe - central region - see list of countries included in this region (CEST - Central European Summer Time)

GMT + 2 hours: South Africa (SAST - South African Standard Time)

GMT + 1 hour: Great Britain (BST - British Summer Time)

GMT + 1 hour: Ireland (IST - Irish Summer Time)

North America

GMT - 4 hours: U.S. and Canada - eastern time zone (EDT - Eastern Daylight Time)

GMT - 5 hours: U.S., Canada and Mexico - central time zone (CDT - Central Daylight Time)

GMT - 6 hours: U.S., Canada and Mexico - mountain time zone (MDT - Mountain Daylight Time)

GMT - 7 hours: U.S. and Canada - Pacific time zone (PDT - Pacific Daylight Time)

GMT - 8 hours: U.S. - Alaskan time zone (AKDT - Alaskan Daylight Time)

GMT - 10 hours: U.S. - Hawaiian time zone (HST - Hawaiian Standard Time)


Notes:

The following countries comprise the Central European time zone: Switzerland, France, Germany, Denmark, Belgium, Luxembourg, Sweden, Italy, Norway, Netherlands, Austria and Spain (listed in order according to forex trading volume).

These countries do not observe Daylight Saving Time: Japan, Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, India, and South Africa.
