Anybody else on Currensee.com?

MacGyver (o990l6mh) and I have signed up with Currensee.com, anybody want to join our trading team??

I won’t go through what all they offer because the mod’s might consider that advertising, but basically it lets us see each others trades as they happen. A live account with a MT4 broker is required, they don’t allow demos. It integrates with MT4 and works automatically.

You can find me there under the name Phil G, and MacGyver is Angus MacGyver.

I’m not sure what MacGyver’s policy is, but I’m only letting active Babypip member’s join my team. I don’t want people joining and using me for a signal service.

Don’t get me wrong, though. Newbies are welcome, as long as you’re trying to learn and not there just to blindly mooch off my trades.

any chance of them integrating the service with oanda? :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah, I have the same policy as Phil on who gets into my trading team.

Unfortunately I added a guy who invited me on the first day. I thought that I’d be in his team but I didn’t understand that he was also added to my team.

I’m planning to ask the admins over there to remove him from my team, as I also want to keep it to a strict BP Price Action team.

Their website claims that they tried but Oanda wasn’t cooperative. Both Phil and I use Oanda and it would have been absolutely great for that integration to come about, but don’t count on it.

so what did you’s do?

switch to an MT4 broker?

all the best brokers i’ve looked at dont use MT4, oanda, GFT, dukascopy to name but a few

have just checked out the website and noticed they do support GFT’s platform

i have been considering opening another account with them and splitting my capital 50/50 between oanda and GFT as a little loophole in our UK tax system, so may see you guys there soon :stuck_out_tongue:

if you’s will accept me that is?

lee

Yeah, I opened a small account with IBFX solely for Currensee’s sake. I might have gone with ODL UK, but they have a larger min acount size than I wanted for this. I really like Oanda, but in the future I may add another broker that offers more than just forex.

How are you finding Currensee? I had an invitation to the beta a while ago but never got round to actually trying it out…

Is it worth having a go?

Im pretty new, but I am definetly interested and am willing to put the time and effort needed in and not leach off you guys. Anyways I currently trade with Oanda so I would have to open another account. Any suggestions? You said that guys trade with Oanda as well, do you guys use Oanda to execute your trades or your new broker? I like Oanda’s execution of trades. I don’t really like the idea of indicators as I have read up on Phils ebook and follow alot of the threads on here. I actually really like NickB’s method. Anyways, let me know if I am welcome. Thanks!

It’s to early for me to evaluate. The service is still being developed, I say that because the answer when I asked admins how to remove a person from yor trading team was that it’s not yet possible but it will be (the admins will do it for you though).

The MT4 expert seems to work well, in MT4 you run an EA which reports your trades to Currensee, so they have no access to your MT4 login.

So far it’s looking good but time will tell if it adds real value. And the answer to that may be individual.

The latest news I’ve heard about integrating with Oanda was on the Currensee blog, where it says, “Thanks to everybody who wrote in to Oanda, weve received a call back and are working on moving forward!”

That’s not much, but maybe it will lead to something.

It’s not a big deal for me, since I was planning on opening an IBFX account anyway so I could start using an EA to enter my Sunday breakout trades.

Absolutely. Come on over!

Yes, join us!

sounds great

if they integrate it with oanda i’ll definately see you guys there soon if not then i’ll be opening up an account with GFT over the next few weeks, thanks for the invite :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah, I agree. The service has potential, but it’s too early to tell how much value it will actually add to my trading.

A few features I was hoping for that are missing…

Blogging - The ability for anyone to easily start a forex blog would be great.

Chart/photo sharing - Having an integrated imageshack type service would make things easier.

Chatrooms - It has an IM widget that let’s you use Yahoo, MSN, Skype, etc, but I was hoping for a full featured chatroom.

I’m not sure about Phil, but I’d be interested in having fellow traders in my virtual team that:

[ul]
[li]Do their trading based on Price Action and Support/Resistance concepts. Doesn’t have to be quite the same as I or Phil trade, but in the neighborhood.[/li][li]Have traded live for more than six months[/li][li]Preferably trade higher time frames, which for me means 4H and above.[/li][/ul]
I don’t care what size your account is or how good you are. You in turn have to understand that I’m by no means a teacher, I’m myself still in my first months of doing better than break even.

In case it hasn’t been said, the service is completely free to use. I of course intend to keep posting on BP what I do and how it goes, same as always, but this service adds the possibility of actually following another traders positions live, plus you know that it’s not just talk, but trades are really taken and it’s not possible to “trade with the benefit of hindsight”.

To put it simple and blunt, lying about your performance becomes, if not impossible, at least much harder.

Anyone interested is welcome to post in this thread. I’d like to hear from Phil what his thoughts are on this.

I just noticed something strange, my first trade which became a +1 pip (closed at BE) USDCAD on sept 8 doesn’t show on Currensee. Weird? The two shorts I’m in are showing but when I checked closed trades there was nothing…

It’s still in beta, so there’s obviously still work to do for them.

Well I can safely say I check the first box as I hate lagging inidicators with a passion and can’t stop preaching price action

As for the second criteria I have dabbled in live trading for about a year and a half but have been trading for a living since late february this year so I guess I just made it there too

As for the 3rd criteria I DO trade the higher time frames as well a little scalping on the smaller TF’s here and there

Look forward to seeing you guys there soon

Lee
