Correlation Trading Log

Here, as the title suggests, I will be placing my trades for my system. Feel free to follow along and try the trades as well. (Note though, that you must enter the trades very quickly after the trades have been posted or the parameters will change. While they typically won’t have changed THAT much…it’s something to be aware of.)

Starting Account Balance: $400.0.
Indicators Used: Two custom ones that myself and a friend have built.

TS (Trade Set) 1: Entered both @ 23:10 2/28

BUY 0.14 AUDJPY @ 79.86; SELL 0.27 NZDJPY @ 62.17; Profit target --> $36.00

this is a trade I entered earlier today when the markets first opened up…Once this set is closed, I will post as soon as I enter my trades.

Look forward to following this and seeing how you trade with the correlations. Hopefully I’ll glean some useful information into why the trades were taken and how it all works.

Thanks for the post! Hopefully it helps illustrate how I trade a bit better.

Ok, so, I had another idea as well–aimed at making it easier to give people signals if they want to try them out. From the time of this post, for at least 30 minutes after. I will be in the BabyPips chat room. If you wish get the a signal from me, meet me there, and I will toss one your way!

Happy trading!

Had to close trades before target profit level…people gotta sleep eventually xD.

CLOSE 0.14 AUDJPY @ 80.04 - 03.01 11:34; PROFIT: 28.21
CLOSE 0.27 NZDJPY @ 62.21 - 03.01 11:34; LOSE: 12.09

Total Profit: 16.12; %Return: ~4.03%

With respect to the lot size for each pair, and having a mini account that won’t allow lots less than 1.0, I know I asked you already, but hope you don’t mind if I ask again cause I do tend to over think things…lol

To compensate for the lot size, you did say you could use 1.4, or 2.7 lots…just by moving the decimal over. However, would it also work if you put a 1 before the decimal instead?.. 1.14 and 1.27.

I guess in the first scenario, the lot size of one pair is around double the other, but in the 2nd, one is more than the other but not by much…or is it still relative?

yo sweet pip! ye, the key to the lot sizes is a ratio. if that ratio is out of whack then the profit could fall apart. so it’s important not to mess with the ratio; which adding a 1 before the decimal would do.

Another day, another trade set!
