Price targets and exit points

i’m new to forex (and to this website), but i have some experience in equities.
when trading stocks, i always looked at volume to determine when a trend was running out of steam and find my exit point. without volume available, i’m looking for another way to figure out when it is time to close my position. so far, i have just been looking for consolidation patterns or reversals on 15 minute charts, however this is largely discretionary and unreliable.

does anyone have any advice? favorite methods for finding price targets or exit points?

i’m currently using bollinger bands, macd and candlesticks on charts ranging from 15 minutes, to daily time periods. i place the most weight on the 4hour chart. also, 3 small hourly charts with MAs and candlesticks for the futures for each currency in the pair, and gold futures.

this is not my ‘system’ yet, as i am still experimenting.
any insights you may have will be appreciated.
thanks.

I use support and resistance levels to define potential turning points in a market move, as such, I generally base my targets at or around these.

you will find daily pivot points work well
