Im trying to make my own trading strategy, i was curious how many pips does GBP/USD move over the weekend? can there be some very big 100 pip moves?
it’s not that the price moves over the weekend, it’s that the opening bid/ask can be different when the market opens back up on sunday. you’ll have more success trading during high-volume sessions like the european/US sessions IMO
It could move zero. It could move hundreds of pips. The vast majority of time it’s closer to zero, but sometimes things develop over the weekend that cause the markets to open trading in Asia’s Monday morning well away from Friday’s US close.
You can also get stupidly high spreads over the weekend period which you’d have to think about when planning a strategy for this kind of thing
