Anyone familiar with ATR (Average true Range)?

on a 14 day period using a daily chart how many pips is 0.6854?

thanks

What pair is that?

I’m a little bit MORE than familiar with ATR!!! LOL!!!

Assuming that your broker is NOT quoting using fractional pip pricing: it’s 6 854 pips.

dale, I’m confused? I’m using 1/2 of the daily range atr as my stop loss. Currency usd/jpy. Trying to figure out how mnay pips is 0.6854. thanks

It represents 68 pips (rounded down), therefore you’d be seeking to adopt a stop loss of 34 pips from whatever current price you were trading away from.

thanks. so cofusing at times.

Sorry:

I should have asked what pair you were talking about (or should have been more specific in my answer to you). That’s quite correct i.e. on USD/JPY it would be 68 (or 69 depending on which way you rounded it off). I just assumed that you were trading something like EUR/USD (four decimals) in which case it would INDEED be indicating 6 854 pips (which you would the halve of course).

Sorry about that.

Dale.

Thanks guys. No apology needed as i was never specific which currency it was.
