Ahhhhh ahaha, its okay, i've done this before too..

It's friday night.. the markets closed 7-8 hours ago :P

The markets are only open sunday afternoon to friday afternoon, it varies by broker, server, and currency, but only by a few minutes each normally, for me the candles open up at 5PM EST Sunday and close 5PM EST Friday

Correct so we as traders get the weekend off and awesome, what I did when I had questions about psychology, patterns, indicators etc. was google it, seeing many different perspective from many different people really helps, that way the knowledge gets presented to you in many different ways and eventually one will stick

The market is only closed to us retailers. The banks can still trade. Price often moves quite a bit on the weekends. Not every weekend, but enough to keep it interesting. It's fun to watch.

I beg to differ, I trade with Oanda, and with them there is never a gap on the Sunday opening @ 6pm GMT/BST, the the price move happens after this before most MT4 platforms are open.

unhide the weekend data PPF some times price does move. most of the time it happens Sunday afternoon. The gap on mt4 does not show up as a gap on a 24/7 price feed (Oanda)
On this gap open we see a bull trap set by bears trying to eat raccoons in the upward secondary tick pattern that is divergent to our Proprietary order flow indicator. You can see the x rated exhaustion level by which all of the sheep will be pulled in and sheared by the smart money

@Shr1k & purplepatchforex: do you mean that instead of making a price gap on sundays Oanda adds all the weekend candle data for the charts at market open?

SithJawa, With Oanda’s FX Trade platform you can set it so there is a 24/7 price feed. Usually not much happens over the weekend, but sometime there will be a move. For example, Friday afternoon the EU price closed at 1.2511. There was no price change from Friday close until tonight, (Sat) 8:00 PM EDT. The 8:00 to 12:00 PM 4-hour candle opened at 1.2511 and closed at 1.2529. They split the EU spread, 5 over and 5 under the price for a total buy/sell spread of 10 pips.

    I don’t use Oanda’s MT4 so I don’t how that handles the weekend feed.
