Default Multi Monitor PC - MT4

Does anyone use MT4 on a dual or greater array or monitors.

I only ask this question as the individual charts can not be 'popped out' and so I cant see how you would be able to shift different price charts onto various PC monitors.

At the moment I use a single 23inch monitor, but would like to invest in a triple monitor PC. Trying to look at 5 or more charts at the same time on a single monitor is proving to be a headache, even at the best of times!

You aren't able to pop the charts out of the MT4 window, but if you un-maximize the MT4 window, you can drag the window across multiple screens. So basically you have one window that spans 3 monitors. You can move charts wherever you want then.

    My 2 cents.

Above works for using a single account. I use my live account and a demo so I can have both running at one time which lets me run multiple screens. Some brokers will allow you to log in multiple times which will do the same function. How ever the above works fine to.

    Jezzode,

I looked into this a while ago, i dont actually have the monitors to be able to do this yet but its something i will invest in when i can..

I remember a few things popping up after a google search, there are i think add-ons for MT4 that allow you to pop your charts right out the window..

This wasnt the one i remember seeing when i first looked into this, but seems this does a similar trick
    tools4meta - Tools for Metatrader

If not, then just hunt on google for 'MT4 multiple monitors' - there's quite a lot on it..

Strangley i was thinking this exact thing a few days ago. I actually sold my two other monitors a while back but now i regret it. Your right its a real headache trying to fit all your charts in. I always used to wonder before i got into trading why people had six monitors i was always like... well thats a bit over the top isnt it? but now i realise its pretty much a nessecity if your trading alot of currencies.

Yep, although after playing around with MT4, its seems Legacy15 is correct.

By dragging the complete window over the dual monitors works just fine. Then you can amend your chart layouts to your own liking.

Get a widescreen 2000px wide 24"+, they are really great for trading and great for everything else too, and not expensive at all, I wish I'd not waited until my last monitor packed in before getting one.

    Hey James,

I'm currently running three monitors right now. Take a look at a software called "Actual Multiple Monitors", it can expand windows and switch them back and forth. Plus some more features. It's nice, I typically trade with 3 TFs open, so 1 chart per screen. Works great.

I use 3 monitors. You can either stretch the MT4 screen across however many monitors you want or you can install multiple instances of the same MT4 and open 1 per screen.
