Pending orders with MT4 platform

Hello, can someone please help me with details on how to place a pending order with MT4 platform. whenever i attempt to do that the system responds to say "invalid stop loss or take profit" and i don'nt seem to be able to fathom that.

try to understand the meaning of sell stop, buy stop , sell limit and buy limit.
if the system is telling you invalid S/L and T/P then you placed a sell stop instead of a sell limit order or vise versa.
the same is applicable to buy stop/limit.

chewck the help topics in MTA for a better understanding on this.
personally, i also have many things am yet to understand, such as plotting the MACD trigger line together with MACD in a chart.
if anyone knows, please help me out.
