    Default Order Delays?

When you sign up with a broker, and you do everything online are there delays? Are your trades taken care of in real-time or are they sometimes delayed? Are there some brokers that are worse about delaying than others?

Usually your orders are done in real-time with no delay. However, during volatile times such as times around news reports, your orders can be delayed because so many people are placing orders. You might experience slippage where you will actually be filled at a value different than what you wanted. To avoid this, you might want to set entry orders before a news report if you plan to trade it.

Just like any other matters, there will always be delays in setting up of account and other matters. We have to give allowances to this. Otherwise, we have to apply early so that we can have it on time, too.
