Thanks for the question. This is usually a case of different time frames. If you click on the event name, in your case, German Import Price Index, a new window will pop up, showing you details of the event. Look at the top of this window for the “Units:”. That will explain which time frame, month-over-month, monthly, index, year-over-year, etc., is being used.
For your date, here is what you would see.
% Month over Month (M/M)
% Year over Year (Y/Y)
