Default Trading Seasons anythoughts ?????

I read in the WSJ the other day that during the years end the forex liquidity kinda dries up and its harder to make a profit, so I'm wondering since I haven't traded for but a few months. Do some of you live traders find this true, do all the market makers go into hibernation during the years end ????

To a certain extent yes. I think FX is less affected than other markets. I can tell you for a fact that the S&P 500 and Russell 2000 dry up after the last fed meeting each year and they string sideways until after the first of the year.

In general terms the closer you get to the holidays and year-end the thinner the markets get. It's simple math. Fewer folks are trading.

That said, though, this doesn't always translate in to quiet markets. Sometimes it's the total opposite.
