Your first concern should be the safety of your funds. The brokers that will easily survive the coming $20M capital requirement in the U.S. are, in descending order, Oanda, FXCM, GFT Forex, Gain Capital (Forex.com), Interbank FX, and I Trade FX. Alpari, at $8.8M, falls below this level, although it is regulated by a competent British authority and is not to be sneezed at.

I have a live account with Forex.com. I like their trading platform, but I am not too sure how competitive their spreads are. Customer service has been outstanding with them so far.
