Smile Brokers whose deno accounts I have tried

I decided to share some experiences I've had recently.

Interactive Brokers - many people recommend them, but their java software does not work on my computer. I cannot find where to download their windows software (does it exist?)

GCI Finanical - Their windows software downloader crashes. After e-mailing tech support, they send me a request to describe the fault in detail, which I do, then they ignore me and continue sending me marketing emails. Maybe it's that trick where u get customers to do your beta testing?

FXLite - They use Meta Trader 4. Works fine, just the data connection sometimes cuts out for a bit. Otherwise Meta Trader works great and the demo seems unlimited.

Alpari (UK) - As above.

GFT - Dealbook 360 randomly shuts down or gives error messages and then shuts down. Sales staff tell me it's not their software that doesn't work, it's my computer.

Hmmm...trouble with 5 brokers on the same computer??? Maybe you should get your computer checked out or try their software on a different computer.

Yes, there does seem to be something in that.

I use GFT and rarely had a shut down problem.

I think I was a bit vague: FXLite and Alpari worked well!

What they in common is that they both used Meta Trader rather than writing their own software. I'm running WinXP. The computer was new at the start of 2006/end of 2005. I have not reinstalled windows yet, thought about it, but the computer runs fine anyway.
