real time strategy testing software needed

ok, I know I dont have a strategy after one week, but Im so addicted to watching those candles form . . . .


I have some ideas I would like to try, but I want to / have to do them manually, and preferably on a chart which will tick along in real time (and even speed along a bit if I want it to)

any suggestions ?

Guess what!...lol...I have one of those too. It's an EA that runs on MT4's strategy tester...actually it's in this forum ...I'll find it and put the link to it shortly.

Here it is. I use it all the time to try/test things out. It has some limitations but overall it's great to practice on. For some reason it won't let me open trades on any JPY pair , and you can't switch timeframes, or use trailing stops while it's running, and any indicator that gets it's data from another timeframe won't update.

you can run a simple ea in metatrader strategy tester so as to make the price bars move as if in real time..... I do that quite often.....

You can adjust the speed.

As Im trying my strategy manually, and Im using trailing stops, I find that MT4 strategy tester bit akward.

Any other ideas for a platform which will display historical data in the same way, ie can be sped up and slowed down but i can trade as if normal ?

you can advance the bars in metatrader one at a time by hitting F12
