Default trading software that doesn't use JAVA ?
java tends to be a real resource hog....i personally like the one from forex.com, but due to low ram, it feels really slow at times.

what are other alternatives, that is not JAVA based ? please no web based ones...those are horrible

your left with the choice of the sort you download and use on your machine then, saxotrader for saxobank is like that, but also if you like metatrader there are a fair few that use that as their platform.

crownforex is one for example, i have not used them so i'm not going to say they are good or bad, i use saxobank i've been using them for a long time and never had a problem.
