Default Consider this

I've been trading live since feb 04 and really, this software makes things way easier.

Most people need 3-4 weeks to get used to it but I was able to jump right in after watching the vids. I didn't care for the classes because it just went too fast and I got irritated. I would suggest that you take your time with the software and study technical analysis more.

Also, I ignore some of the indicators, like the reversal and snap-back because like someone had said - its not a good idea to let the software think for you.

I was also pretty daunted by all the indicators, and if you're a brand-spanking newbie, you have my sympathies with trying to understand it all.

If you decide to continue with it, the software, don't follow every thing verbatim. You have to keep what works for you and toss the rest. Try this for example...use the Forex Cumulative Tick and watch the numbers it puts out...use the adx, macd and stochastic settings as advocated, and the Buy/sell pressure gauge. Focus on the 50ema, and balance point, and use the chandelier stops. If its uptrend, then gets close to a chandelier stop, buy...bear market do the opposite...or just wait and watch the balance point / 50 ema...I mean, if you can understand support and resistance and trade with the trend (and only with the trend) you're halfway there.

From what you posted though, I really think you may be too new for the software and may have some issues with trusting certain things, like Fib retracements, and indicators. and if you're too new to have a trading style of your own, you'll have to develop one and that will take time.

Hang in there and be patient. There's $$$ to be had, but it won't come on a silver platter. Try trading a single mini, or just go on demo. FX is hard and it takes lots of time. You'll just have to put your time in, and learn.

Default Hanging In There

Hi solidsmoke,

Thank you for the encouragement.

I am hanging in there.

One of the things I realized after writing my
post is I need to really change my attitude.

If I keep thinking I'm a failure and thats all
I see then thats all I'm going to get as I will
quite even trying to succeed.

Again thank you for the encouragement.

Texson5

lol same here I'll be opening my account in about 2 weeks as well. Have you decided which broker to go with? I'm leaning more towards Velocity4x than FXDD based on the reviews I've read online. I'm very excited to get started as well!! I took the 5 day free demo went to the training room yesterday and seems pretty good and informative and still on the border if I should shell out some money to learn some more and also learn the trend following system. What are your thoughts on the training he's offering?

hey francob, i'm going to use forex.com as my broker. they offer free esignal as long as you trade 10 MINI lots per month. I cant trade 10 standard lots since my account is only going to be 1k usd.

well, i'm going to trade with the trend, even tho most of chris's strategies are for counter trend. also, USE THE PALTALK ROOM... those guys call out trades and most of them are pretty good. i have only seen 1 losing day, which was because they were ambushed by news.

''bradtrader'' and ''motorcitymark'' are the best traders in the paltalk rooms.
''leveragefx'' is chris, but he calls fewer trades.

so how are you going to use the Top Gun Software? How much would be the cost to use it? I am putting in $3000 to open a mini account as well and just hope I can make the 100 mini lots a month requirement. 10 mini lots a month does sound a lot better, but I wonder what the monthly cost is to use top gun.

Found the answer to my question. Cost is $150/month
Thats a little too steep for me monthly. Specially just starting out with my first live account. I'll post how I'm doing here as well when I do get started. Looks like i'll be going with Velocity4x

Thanks for your tips. What time are you going to be trading? I live in CA and I try my best to stay up all night but still not use to it. I end up sleeping at around 3am and miss the start of the US session. Any recomendations of ideal times to be up and trading? What time does everyone in paltalk start trading and post signals?

ok, chris offers a free 7 day trial for topgun software. i'm going to use that, and i will ask him if i can have an extra few weeks. i know it sounds like begging, but i will still be signing up with him as my IB on forex.com.

i will get started and load all my charts at 7:00 am EST, and i'll trade until about noon when the london session closes. this is the highest volatility time of day, and the good traders are calling trades in Paltalk so i'm going to follow them and learn.

one thing about velocity i kinda dont like is 100:1 leverage. but you will be ok with a 3k account. i have heard wonderful things about the velocity staff, they care about their customers.
