Default just signed up with top gun

i have not test drive the whole thing yet. just going through the video training and trying to figure out all the charting tools that they have. since i'm a newbie, the task can be daunting at times with so many things to learn before you can use it functionally and make money.

i also have to upgrade my video card because their software with the esignal data feeds had slowed down my computer tremendously. i had my computer shut down at least 3 or 4 times because of this problem. but chris of top gun has been helpful and really do try his best to solve the problem or issues that may crop up from time to time as in any new setting.

but i believe over time (hopefully soon), i will be able to do what they ask and be a top gun (no pun intended) at the forex market. however, my strategy eventually is to use other software as well for cross confirmation. with this i intend to have 4 monitors to have a grasp of what's going on at the time i'm trading. i will definitely have one for the news.

try looking at fxmoneymap.com and fxinsights.com

you could get some ideas. just trying to help.

ok my experience with topgun has been about break even trading, some of their tools dont work as i think they are intended to.

for instance, the trend snapback does not work as well as the youtube video portrays.

however it is the best charting package around. TG has tick charts, which totally blow away time based charts. you will still need to learn how to trade, which has been very very rough for me. i'm still hanging around with TG because they are soon coming out with a system that tells you when to buy and sell(one that works!!!). plus, they are coming out with an automated managed account program which is projected to make some serious returns each month.

halo3plz,
Thanks for your reply. That's the conclusion I was comming to. If you check the posting for this software on this and other sites, there it a lot of interest fo it. Many state that they are going to join up or have just joined but hardly any that states that they have been using it for a few months and posting their results. I was in the chat room and asked people what their results were and it seemed that most had just joined. Anyway, I got kicked out of the room for probing for results. It seems that there are just half a dozen or so traders that are making a profit from using the software.

I do think that this software has some unique tools that maybe once understood would help in trading. Have you found the currency meter helpful? It looks that one could make a good trading system around the Chandelier Stop.

the currency meter doesnt work in real time like chris says it does. he acts like you can just wait for a currency to go red, and another green and make a thousand bucks.

i honestly just like the tick charts and chandalier and 180mm (draw color only).

byculla, do you know when the trend explosion might come out??? chris doesnt answer 'when' questions so i dont even ask.

cant wait for that trend explosion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!

HAlo3plz,

That's intresting info. about the currency meter. That is the foundation of everything leverage fx. At least that's how Chris. projects it.

I wouldn't hold my breath about trend explosion mainly because it might turn out to be just as big a letdown as the CM. Use the existing tools to formulate a viable trading system for yourself.

Unfortunately TG does not have backtesting or forward walking capabilities to give you feedback as to how well you have succeded in your effort. So one is left learning in realtime with real cash which in the fx market is 1. expensive 2. under present leveragfx arrangement of minimun trading to get free data feed and software costly.

What is it about tick charts that you like. How is it different. I would much appreciate your thoughts on this. Plz keep us posted with your ongoing experience with this software. I for on and maybe others wonder if this software is just a good idea/ concept or is it one that can be easily translated to profitable trading.

also i like trend candles ALOT. i havent taken a live trade in about a week and i think my software has been turned off too. i like tick charts because they get me into trend line break trades earlier. a 50tick chart blows away a 5,10,15, minute chart.

i think the trend explosion will work well, its taking soo dam long tho and i hate waiting for stuff. everytime chris has showed examples of it, it appeared very profitable.

i think the currency meter(s) are not good trade signals, they just help point out the direction you should trade in on a pullback, breakout, etc.

ps. are you going to open a managed account with them when they start accepting funds?

halo3plz,
Managed accounts- I don't think so, although I will keep a close eye on its performance before deciding.

Personally, I don't get a good feel for the site. My impresstion is that this software has been around a while yet when I asked Chris the performance of the various signals and the expectancy that they generate, he replied that he hadn't tested the signals. If this was to interest to me, I should contact him in 6 months. I find this very strange. I also find it strange that the majority of the users are newcomers.

There is no way to pretest a system other than live trading which I see as a loss making strategy to the user. I like to be reasonably confident that the system I use has a positive expectancy otherwise I'm reluctant to put money down.

So for not trading for weeks they turned off your software, weird.

i leased tg for a month, thats why its off right now.

yeah i have kind of noticed that the traders in there dont call out trades. mark used to in his paltalk room, but thats over.

live trading is the only way to truly test a system, thats kind of why i want to wait for the trend explosion to come out before i get back into it. i want clear black and white trade signals.

i like the managed idea tho, they are going to run it for a few months to get a track record before they accept funds, so we all should know by then if its going to work.

new version just came out, cant wait till the next one
