hi all,

i have finished my silver bullion purchases for the time being. as i am no longer day trading the market i thought i would give some of you an update. it is conceivable that i may still do short term trading however. here's an explanation:

my entire philosophy is to generate insurance for my bullion by trading. oanda allows me to do this by providing trading on silver. i must point out that my primary goal, again, is the insurance. as such, i will stay with a short position longer than i other wise might.

i am utilizing a three hour chart and a daily chart. i am still using the starc but may switch to just an 8 ema.

when price closes under the mid line, or the 8 ema on the 3 hr. chart i will go short. i will use any re-cross and close as a S/L. i will use the same line as my TP.

also, i will trade from the long side but with fewer units than i use on insurance. the week's trade:

monday, 9:00 am long, 13.0214

the position is still open.

later,

goji, bernie

hi all,

i just closed out my most successful week ever. i closed my silver position at 13.9428. i did not want to be long over the weekend. also, i wanted to get out of the long position, in case i would have to purchase insurance at some point next week.

i admit, this week has justified my change. i placed two trades, the entry and the exit and had my best week ever.

Thank you! That is very informative and helpful to all newbies.

If even 1% of this forums members has $14,000 to invest in 1000 ounce silver bars I would be surprised.

And even if one has that sort of investment reserve I rather doubt that depository silver bullion would be their choice. So what is the point of your posting cryptic information about your silver hedging activities?

Even more curious is why you abandoned your successful FX trading activities. You stated several times in your thread that your were a high leverage, multi-lot currency trader. Here are the totals you reported since the inception of your thread:

oct. 2008 +594.76
nov.2008 +377.3
dec. 2008 +328.5
jan. 2009 +300.9
feb. 2009 +264.6
mar. 2009 +503
As of april 20, 2009 total, +348

Certainly your above average monthly investment income from these FX trading activities has provided you with the resources required to participate in your latest quest into institutional size precious metals investments.

Good Luck!

hi all,

truly, i was not attempting to be cryptic. i began this hoping to help people but i feel that some were hurt more than helped.

ok, so why write? after awhile doing the same thing can get to some. it did to me. that is one of the reasons that i changed things every once in awhile.

if knowing that the average joe, can be successful can still help some, than maybe, that is what this is about.

i told people i was going to change my approach before i decided to quit writing. i guess, i felt some of those people that i had grown attached to by my writing were deserving of an explanation.

certainly, anyone can be critical of my actions but i promise you, everything i have done was well intended by me. this was never about my ego!

in retrospect, since some were hurt and they are the only ones that i can guage things by, i now wish i had never started writing. however, perhaps some were still helped but chose not to write anything and thus my overall perception may still be wrong.

Bernie,

I didn't make money while trading your system, in fact, I lost some. But that is due to my psychology and not your system. I can say, without a doubt, I learned a whole lot about myself and about trading while participating in this thread. I made some major strides and discoveries about myself in this time. I thank you for having the patience to be thorough about what you were doing and for offering sound advice to many of us newbies.

Good luck with all of your endeavors. I'm happy to say I'm still advancing in my trading and owe much of my early discoveries to things I found in this thread.

Peace.

Lavaman

hi all, lavaman et al,

it is nice to hear from someone who benefited from my writing. the central theme to that writing was that i was informing you of what i was doing. i think most of the regular readers would agree with that. thus, when i wrote about my silver purchases, i was simply letting people know what i was doing.

enough said,

goji, bernie
