Swing trading island

In this thread, we will be sharing ideas about how swing trading can help us improve our trading results and make us better traders…
I will also post my charts and all losing and winning trades. As for me a good swing trader will be a very wealthy person…here is the chart i will be watching for this week…

short cad.yen at 83.03 SL 84.28 TP1 81.60 TP2 will be disclosed later
buy nzd.usd at 0.7579 SL 0.7335 TP1 and TP2 will be added later

short usd.chf at 0.9485 sl 0.9674 tp 0.9100 .break even after 50 pips or take half profit

the trade we took yesterday are looking good. i recommend to move the stop loss to break even on the chf.yen or you take half profit and move it to b.e.

i will keep my short oders on the usd.chf and cad.yen here is the trade of today:

short usd.yen at 82.71 SL 84.60 TP1= 81.30 TP2= 79.80 as usually, after the first target is hit, it is wise to move SL to break even…

happy pips :)

Hey Swingexpert, I’m definitely interested in your thoughts on “swing trading”.
I’m working on developing a “swing trading strategy” that I can feel comfortable with. I’m pretty much new at this and have never gone live. Having said that, I’ve been on and off with a demo account for the last year. I’m trying to keep it simple, use technical analysis and be able to let the trade run for a few days. I’m using MA’s for entry, combined with RSI and Stochs to confirm direction and momentum. I also look at S/R levels.

I like the fact that you are looking at daily charts.
I would like to pick your brain a bit if you do not mind.
Do you look at any other time frames?
Do you only trade with trend?
What do you look for in your set ups?

Anyway, I will leave it there for now…

Best Regards and look forward to seeing how this might develop.

hi
i mostly use daily chart and 4hr chart wich are my primary focus for analysing the market. But sometimes, i look at the weekly, and rarely monthly chart…
i don’t use indicators like rsi or bollinger band…i only trade with the trend, and occasionally counter-trend, when the set up is obvious…i look for retracement to enter trades in direction of the trend

hope this helps…

in case euro break the 1.3400 level, i will buy euro usd at 1.3405 SL 1.3240 T1=1.3474 T2= 1.3530 don’t forget to protect your position once in profit

I recommend to close the euro trade it is working as expected…I have closed mine with 10 pips loss…I don’t trust the trade anymore

Thank you… I appreciate it.
I will look at some of trades you are posting.

market is forming good set up… i will keep my entry set up and other trade. the gbp.usd doesn’t seem to be moving…

short usd.cad at 1.0047 sl 1.0217 t1= 0.99 17 t2 0.9780

short euro jpy at 108.55 sl 110.34 t1 108.15 t2= 104.80
after a couple of pips, break even

my nzd.usd trade has been triggered but if you didn’t take it, you can still take it

buy nzd.usd at 0.7589 SL 0.7335 Tp1=0.7760 Tp2=0.7967

buy aud.usd at 1.000 sl=0.9830 tp1=1.0194 tp2=1.0441

after first target is hit or a good number of pips you need to reduce your stop loss, or break even , or take some profit.

i lost the usd.chf trade, but it is giving a sell signal… let’s wait and see

short gbp.usd at 1.5450 sl 1.5703 t= 1.5190

buy again aud.usd at 0.9971 sl 0.9890 tp= 1.0170
buy nzd usd at 0.7647 sl = 0.7535 tp1= 0.7757 tp2= 0.7884

the market has no clear direction . i’m closing my aud.usd trade and reduce position and stop loss on nzd.usd…only keep the euro yen
Edit/Delete Message

short gbp.usd at 1.5395 SL 1.5672 TP 1.5150

the gbp usd short did not triger. i will then cancel it
the nzd. usd is still going up. i will enter again the trade

buy nzd.usd at 0.7645 SL 0.7535 Tp1 0.7760 Tp2= 0.7975

if the nzd.usd was to break below the 0.7540 area, i will close the trade

Hey there,

Good posts, I agree about the cable…

I would stay out of it for the time being and it is a bit choppy,

I am new to this forum and also interested in swing trading. Last week the indicators (according to the method I use) all alligned and I entered into a number of trades, exited with over 1000 pips. However this week I am not so sure (I stopped all last week trades on the Friday as I am in the testing phase)

I will await until the indicators allign and will also post to let you know what I think…

Thanks

o.k no problem
