Moving Averages in a trading strategy

i’ve used this strategy on gbp/usd and usd/jpy on demo and it worked.

but what baffles me is that in live trading, i got into the market according to the rules but for the market to just reverse against me. do you apply any indicator that indicates if a trend is getting weaker or stronger? please i need your suggestion.

Can you post a chart in order to show when and how it reversed on you…?

I’ve got 20 different exit rules in this strategy.
Because the exit is the part that needs most attention in order to maximise profits. Otherwise you give it all back as you’ve found out.

Also, there are situations where it might reverse against you for a [B]limited[/B] time [1-4 hrs] and then really [B]take off[/B] in your direction.
That’s why I designed that many exit rules.

trading SMAs or EMAs can be very profitable.

Just dont use them as crossovers.

There are other ways to use them.

Combine them with candlesticks and higher TFs. That will give you a good system.

I dont know who deviced crossovers, but that is another classical mistake of looking at the indicators for entry and not the market / candlesticks for an entry. Trading SMA/EMA as crossovers for signals are disastrous.
