My advice is to plan to spend several thousand hours of screen time and if you still haven’t mastered it, perhaps it isn’t for you.
Well said CodeMeister… i’ve been at it (part time most of it) for several years… there’s no short cut to success, not in any industry. I’m still a small fish in a big pond, but i finally have a strategy that i love, understand, and that (at least i think) i’m good at. Now i’m spending more time to grow my little account to prove i can finally do it.
I’m at an advantage because i run my own business and work from home. So i have a couple of monitors on the side where i can track the market all day long.
You can take a proven winning strategy today and you’d probably lose money at it. Discipline, patience, etc… takes time. A lot of time.
I have a friend who sat in front of me in my office and followed my trading live… after a week i made money and he lost. Sounds amazing right? but it’s true. He couldn’t handle some of the draw downs and would take losses even when i was sitting in front of him telling him to stay in the trade. A lot of those trades ended up winners… But it’s reality. Each person is unique and has their own trading style. What works for me will not necessarily work for you.
Sit your butt down and start testing out everything you can… see which strategy you like, and most importantly, understand. Know why you are buying when you buy and selling when you sell.
Enjoy the ride… it’s a long one… painful… but can be rewarding. Oh yea… don’t drop out of school for this or quit your job.
